The photo print shop includes one medium format and one large format printer, both of which contain archival inks. Two iMacs are in place for color correction and fractal-based resizing. A large flatbed scanner with transparency capability is also available.
The print and prep area houses the department's three laser printers (color & b/w), the dry mount press, several cutting/trimming devices, and the spray booth. Students from all concentrations come here to "print and prep" their work prior to critique or exhibition.
The wood shop features a table saw, combination belt sander, bandsaw, drill press, compound miter saw, a powerful dust collector, several clamps, compressed air, and other woodworking tools.
Media Arts is pleased to share this space with its friends in the department of engineering. The metal shop is equipped with welders, a press brake, a metal shear, two industrial-grade metal tables, compressed air, and additional metalworking equipment.
The mixed media room is a highly flexible space suited for small classes, student groups, and RMU's Community Design Workshop. It is currently the home of the department's Makerbot "Thing-o-matic" 3D printer and a small vacuum former.
The printmaking studio is a water-based printing facility equipped for silkscreening, intaglio, and more.
