tv/video

Students in this concentration learn by working behind the scenes and in front of the camera, both inside the studio and out on location. Students are encouraged to learn all production positions and specialize in one area or two. Areas addressed include motion graphics, videography, filmmaking, field production, editing, storyboarding, sound design, and writing for the media. Students can produce programs for RMU-TV and get involved in production as early as their first week.

An internationally recognized faculty teaches basic and advanced skills utilizing high-end facilities. During the spring semester, the department welcomes the Visiting Documentary Filmmaker in Residence, who is housed in the Media Arts House. The filmmaker is selected by RMU faculty from a international pool of candidates and teaches a documentary production course, gives two public lectures, and produces a documentary film.
