One of the largest studios in Western PA, the TV Studio serves both the curricular needs of the department and the extra-curricular opportunities of the AMC.
Upgraded in 2011, the control room is the nerve center of the TV Studio.
All upper-level TV/Video production coursework is taught out of this Mac Pro lab.
The audio suite provides an sound-isolated space for dialing in the sound for your video or film project.
Six Mac Pro workstations with 27" monitors and two Mac Pro workstations with 30" monitors and surround sound provide students with the hardware they need to finish work outside of class or for that extra-curricular project.
Free of charge, the AMC checks out all kinds of AV, lighting equipment, and accessories for 24 hours or over the weekend. Equipment for checkout is commercial-grade and mostly HD.
The Academic Media Center (AMC) is equipped with the latest technologies in high definition video and audio editing and it serves as the primary learning environment for students in the Media Arts television/video production concentration. Students are given hands-on experience and education with professional equipment, including a variety of lighting and grip accessories. The Center offers students a wide range of live television, radio and video production opportunities throughout campus and within the local market.
The dedicated faculty and staff of industry professionals provide a first person approach to the learning experience and they are available to offer information and guidance on how to advance within the program and succeed in the ever-evolving media industry. By keeping in tune with the latest technologies, the AMC and its professionals give its students the knowledge and empowerment to take on the workforce after graduation. The AMC is proud to be part RMU's converged media effort where students from Communication, Media Arts and other departments come together to produce news and cover events on campus and in the community.
